Nestled in the lush mountains of Minca, Casa Loma is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking views, a laid-back atmosphere, and a connection to nature. But like many hostels, they faced challenges when it came to getting guests to join activities—especially those on short stays—and keeping everything organized for both staff and visitors.
The Challenge: Streamlining Activities and Guest Engagement
Casa Loma had plenty to offer, from guided hikes to yoga sessions and cultural experiences, but guests often didn’t know what was available or struggled to sign up in time. Staff members found themselves constantly explaining activity details and managing sign-ups manually, taking up valuable time that could be spent enhancing the guest experience.
The SocialStay Solution
When Casa Loma partnered with SocialStay, we worked closely with them to bring all their activities and services onto one easy-to-use platform. Here’s how we made a difference:
- All activities, tours, and services (including taxis and massages) are now in one place.
- QR codes were posted around the hostel, making it easy for guests to browse and book events instantly.
- New experiences were added—Casa Loma now offers six (and counting!) new activities from local guides.
- Reservations became effortless, and guests started signing up for multiple activities at once.
- Tour guides can now easily modify tour details, updating descriptions and pricing in real-time without needing to reprint flyers.
- Guests are placed into group chats with other attendees to encourage interaction and connection. While communication within these groups is still developing, we continue to experiment with ways to foster engagement.
Looking Ahead
This is just the beginning! As Casa Loma continues to expand its offerings and we fine-tune the experience, we’re excited to see how SocialStay can further enhance hostel life. We’re also working to connect with local non-profit organizations to provide guests with opportunities to give back through community service initiatives. If you run a hostel and want to boost activity participation while reducing staff workload, let’s talk!
